Welcome to the CPW web site.
For over 65 years CPW has been providing “holidays with a difference”.
Some of our events are for people of all ages – families with children, as well as people (of any age) without children. Others are for those aged 18 and over. Whichever you choose, you’ll find food for thought, fun and friends.
In 2012, we are holding eleven events, varying between 2 and 7 days, on a range of themes. All our events – whether weekend, long weekend or week-long – offer the revitalising mixture of engaging talks and activities, prayer and socialising, in a community setting, that makes CPW so much valued by its members.
We have two new centres in 2012. Jordans in Buckinghamshire is a cosy Youth Hostel conveniently close to London and transport links. The weekend here is aimed at young adults. Unstone Grange in Derbyshire, set in 5 acres of gardens run on organic and sustainable principles, will be the base for this year’s Walking Week.
The winter weekends (slightly later this year, to avoid severe weather) are in the familiar settings of Boars Hill and Hyning, and we will be welcomed at Hyning again in July.
We will also be making return visits to favourite centres. Dunfield House in Herefordshire is a Grade II listed building with its own swimming pool. Culford School is set in 480 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland. Downside School in Somerset has its own pool and extensive grounds. Ammerdown, also in Somerset, provides very comfortable accommodation in a tranquil setting. Our autumn weekend, including the Biennial General Meeting and the annual Dora Turbin Lecture, will be at Wistaston Hall, Crewe.
You will find details of all 2012 events on this page, and a printable booking form here; feel free to photocopy the booking form if you wish. These web pages contain all that is contained in the printed brochure, but if you would like to receive printed copies of the brochure – for friends, family or other parishioners – ring or e-mail the Secretary (contact details on this page). Alternatively, you can download a complete copy of the brochure here. Our Friendship Fund is there to help those who would otherwise not be able to afford to come.
We do hope you will join us this year. We can assure you of a warm welcome, and look forward to meeting you. Feel free to contact any of the people mentioned in the brochure. They will be happy to explain more fully what CPW is about.
Some of our events book up very quickly, so don’t leave it too late to get in touch. And there’s another incentive for booking early – we offer a 5% discount on all bookings for summer events received by the end of February.
